Did you know that farm fresh produce and products are as close as the corner store? One of The Brandywine Hundred’s most unassuming treasure’s is right under your nose. If you haven’t been to Highland Orchard’s you have probably passed it a thousand times. Do yourself a favor and pull over.

Located on Foulk Rd just South of Silverside Rd, you have probably seen these signs on the side of the road. Next time you pass by go ahead and pull in up the long driveway and discover a cozy little market of farm fresh goods.

Founded by Clark Webster in 1832 the farm still remains in the family today. Three generations are currently still working and operating the grounds. Farm grown flowers line the outside of the barn leading you to the front door of the market. There you find tons of fresh fruit and produce. Jam’s and packaged goods line the outside wall inside the market and a cooler in the back is stocked with meats. Fresh cider and most importantly apple cider donuts can be found near the register.

In a time when everyone is throwing around the word organic. What better way to know where you are getting your fruits and vegetables then walking in and saying hello to the person who grew them.
